Writing news

You can draft a news item by clicking on [Add] in the News main page located above the list.

A popup window will open up with the following setup:

  • Selection box Category: Input the category where the news item is to be filed. If it involves a global category use the category and the SiteMgr module to determine in which website page the news item should appear, e.g. only on the main page or in a particular heading.
  • Headline: News headline/title.
  • Teaser: Write a short teaser of your news item. In the SiteManger module you can view all news items with teasers and a 'read more' link, e.g. for an overview page.
  • Content: Enter the complete news text including images or tables in the text editor.
  • Selection box Visible: Depending on the preference setting you selected, the news item will either appear or not. You can choose from 'always', 'never' and 'by date'. If you choose 'by date' you can determine the beginning and end as a date on which the news item will be displayed. You can also filter the list according to this date.

Underneath the list you will see Created by ... on the left and the date on the right.

Below that are four buttons to [Save], [Apply], [Cancel] and [Delete] the news item.
